With a theme of Core Varieties, New Futures, Shenyuan Grape successfully hosted an Open Field Day for its domestic clients on July 1 in Zhangjiagang City.

This event featured experts from China and abroad, including Dr. Avi Perl, former Chief Scientist with Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture, Professor Tian Shufen, President of China Association of Agricultural Science Societies’ Grape Chapter, and Professor Ma Huiqin from China Agricultural University. They were joined by grape growers from across the country.

Attendees toured Shenyuan’s grape cultivation areas, observing the growth of new varieties and tasting eight premium early ripening cultivars. Lively discussions followed, with participants praising the quality and potential of these varieties.

The Open Field Day included technical sessions, where Shenyuan’s team shared insights into growing and cultivating the varieties as well as harvest standards tailored for the market.

Shenyuan also unveiled an innovative cooperation model to maximize these new varieties’ potential by fostering healthier industry development from production through to sales. Growers expressed strong interest in the model and eagerness to adopt Shenyuan’s new varieties.

International Open Field Days

The event provided valuable experience as Shenyuan prepares for its inaugural International Open Field Days project, scheduled for August 24 to August 26 in Zhangjiagang.

Under a theme of Innovation, Collaboration and Shared Success, the program includes vineyard tours, including experimental plots, as well as grape variety presentations, cultivar evaluation sessions and discussions on business collaboration.

Internationally renowned growers, supply chain executives and breeding experts from Canada, Chile, China, Greece, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Peru, the U.K. and the U.S. have already confirmed their attendance.

Shenyuan has 80 hectares of demonstration vineyards and 500,000 square meters of greenhouses at its base in Zhangjiagang, where it has developed 12 commercial grape varieties with improved shelf life and flavor profiles tailored for export markets.
