The grape industry will be in sharp focus next month with back-to-back events in Zhangjiagang City.

First is the Third Grape Breeding & Intellectual Property Protection Seminar from August 22 to August 24.

Organized by the Grape Chapter of the China Association of Agricultural Sciences Societies (CAASS), and co-organized by Jiangsu Province Grape Association and Shenyuan Grape Technology, the topics include developments in China’s grape breeding industry, the construction of high-quality production systems and IPR strategies for new cultivars. It will also include the release of new grape varieties.

The conference is open to CAASS Grape Chapter members, to grape industry researchers, professors and graduate students, to business representatives, growers and distributors and to the local authorities.

Shenyuan’s first International Open Field Days will immediately follow the seminar, from August 24 to August 26. Growers, supply chain experts and breeding experts from 11 nations are already confirmed for an itinerary that includes vineyard tours, grape variety presentations and evaluations, and business collaboration sessions.
