With just 90 days until the inaugural Shenyuan Grape “Open Field Day”, industry representatives from eleven nations have confirmed attendance.
Internationally renowned growers, supply chain executives and breeding experts from Canada, Chile, China, Greece, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Peru, the U.K. and the U.S. will gather in Zhangjiagang City from August 24 to August 26 to witness the debut of Shenyuan’s next-generation grape varieties.
“In 90 days, the brightest minds of the world’s grape industry will gather in Zhangjiagang,” said Shenyuan Chairman Xu Weidong. “We look forward to opening a new chapter of collaboration to develop the global grape sector.”
Showcasing Innovation
With a theme of “Innovation, Collaboration and Shared Success,” the Open Field Days will showcase the significant progress of Shenyuan’s technical team. Shenyuan recently concluded its annual crossbreeding program and is advancing embryo rescue technology to support the upcoming variety demonstrations. The company will also showcase its field management and thriving vines.
“We’re particularly excited to demonstrate how our breeding techniques address climate resilience and market preferences,” said Xu Weidong, who added that Shenyuan has 40 new cultivars in its pipeline.
Shenyuan has over 80 hectares of demonstration vineyards and 500,000 square meters of greenhouses at its base in Zhangjiagang City, close to Shanghai. Thus far, the company has developed 12 commercialized grape varieties with improved shelf life and flavor profiles tailored for export markets.
