China to Debut Next-Generation Grapes

Shenyuan’s “Open Field Days” to Showcase Cutting-Edge Grape Varieties and Foster Global Partnerships

(Zhangjiagang, April 17)—Shenyuan Grape Technology, a leading table grape innovator in China, will hold its inaugural Open Field Days from August 24 to August 26 in Zhangjiagang City, near Shanghai.

The event comes as global demand for premium table grapes is growing by 6.2% annually.

The Open Field Days will introduce Shenyuan, China’s largest commercial grape breeding program, to the international community and offer a platform for technical exchanges and business collaboration.

“With over 40 new cultivars in our pipeline, this event represents an opportunity for international partners to access China’s grape innovation ecosystem,” stated President Weidong Xu. “We’re particularly excited to demonstrate how our breeding techniques address climate resilience and market preferences.”

Participation by key players from six countries across the global table grape supply chain has been confirmed.

Shenyuan has already developed 12 commercialized grape varieties with improved shelf life and flavor profiles tailored for export markets. The company has more than 80 hectares of demonstration vineyards and 500,000 square meters of greenhouses at its base in Zhangjiagang.
